1. Sheep must have leadership to live.
•(comparison to a gps navigation system in the car/ we need Jesus to
guide us)
2. Sheep are created to be Producers and Movers.
•"yea, though I walk through"- we just go THROUGH the valley...we
move. We don't live there!
•the rod-to keep bugs off sheep, to protect them from danger, to
correct them, sometimes a gentle touch just to remind them "I'm here,
on your side"
3. Sheep are annointed to stand in a world of opposition.
•Shepherd prepares a valley first, removes harmful plants, dangerous
things, then lets them up to the plateau pasture (like a "table") and
then as the are eating He can watch for predators and guard His sheep.
•annointing with oil-shepherd puts oil on sheep's face when it seems
overwhelmed by the flies. Brings instant comfort and makes the flies
go away
When sheep go off alone, sometimes it tumples over and cannot get
upright. Gasses from inside himself suffocate the sheep. We need to
stay in the body of Christ and be around people and be with the flock.
You cannot be close to the Shepherd without being close to the sheep....
